I don’t how I would be surviving these days if the government has not been intervening in my financial situation. I am one of the parents in this country who receive Family Tax Credit from the government because of my low income. My husband passed away ten years ago and left me with three children and all of them are now in college. I struggle so much to cater for their needs, especially the basic needs but the cost of living is continuously going up and most of the time I am unable to afford all what they need. The family tax credit I receive enables me to spare at least some money from my income, money I could have paid off as tax and this money is included in my family budget. A month ago, I was involved in a very fatal accident that left me incapacitated. I can no longer work to earn a living for myself and for my children, but at least the government again has offered to help me by offering long term incapacity benefit to me so that I can be able to cater for the needs of my family. Our government is doing so much to ensure that people like me in this country live a better life even when circumstances have reduced us to the ground. When my husband passed on, I thought I could not manage to bring up three children on my own and take care of myself as well, but ten years down the line, I can see how far I have gone and the far I am headed to, thanks to my government. There is so much more for the citizens of this country in the form of government benefits.

What would we do with out him? He is always there to lend a helping hand in whatever situation would come up. Helping with groceries, bringing chicken soup to a sick neighbor or helping get the trash cans out when the garbage-man is two houses down, even helping find a run-away pet. We had a birthday party for him and when he unwrapped the beautifully done Special Neighbor trophy we had gotten for him he was speechless. The quality was excellent.
